چکیده

Despite the established volume of literature on human– robot interaction, the ways in which humans and robots work together as a team have been relatively understudied. This paper proposes a working framework for human–robot teams as a theoretical guide, based on IMOI (Inputs-Mediators-OutputsInputs) framework for teamwork in human teams. The proposed framework describes the developmental process of human–robot teams, in which different characteristics regarding humans and robots produce team outcomes through various mediators within organizational contexts.

Relational Enhancement: A Framework for Evaluating and Designing Human-Robot Relationships

Much existing work examining the ethical behaviors of robots does not consider the impact and effects of longterm human-robot interactions. A robot teammate, collaborator or helper is often expected to increase task performance, individually or of the team, but little discussion is usually devoted to how such a robot should balance the task requirements with building and maintaining a “working ...

An Experimental Study on Blinking and Eye Movement Detection via EEG Signals for Human-Robot Interaction Purposes Based on a Spherical 2-DOF Parallel Robot

Blinking and eye movement are one of the most important abilities that most people have, even people with spinal cord problem. By using this ability these people could handle some of their activities such as moving their wheelchair without the help of others. One of the most important fields in Human-Robot Interaction is the development of artificial limbs working with brain signals. The purpos...

Early Turn-taking Prediction with Spiking Neural Networks for Human Robot Collaboration

Turn-taking is essential to the structure of human teamwork. Humans are typically aware of team members’ intention to keep or relinquish their turn before a turn switch, where the responsibility of working on a shared task is shifted. Future co-robots are also expected to provide such competence. To that end, this paper proposes the Cognitive Turn-taking Model (CTTM), which leverages cognitive ...

What Lies Ahead? Expectation Management in Human-Robot Collaboration

We aim to build robots that go beyond command-andresponse and can engage in fluent collaborative behavior with their human counterparts. This paper discusses one aspect of collaboration fluency: expectation management — predicting what a human collaborator will do next and how to act on that prediction. We propose a formal time-based collaborative framework that can be used to evaluate this and...
